Rémi Bertoche.
Artist, former professional surfer and self-taught painter. From his studio in Seignosse, Rémi Bertoche works across painting, sculpture, murals and live performance.

Born in Biarritz in 1977, Rémi Bertoche first traveled through surfing. Drawing and watercolor followed him from one coast to the next.
A professional surfer on the WQS tour from 1998 to 2007, Bertoche also designed for surf brands, founded magazines and self-published four books. Painting later became the center of his practice.
His work then moved into hotels, sporting events, brand activations, public walls and private collections across Europe, the Middle East and the United States. Today, the France–USA axis reflects an artist whose studio has always been mobile.
Facing the canvas.
The ocean first.
The wave taught him timing, commitment and the value of an instinctive decision. Painting would later give that same tension a lasting surface.
Encounters.
Sport has led to encounters with figures whose gestures appear in his work. Here, Tony Parker and Rory McIlroy meet the artist.
The studio’s documented projects also include Prince Albert II of Monaco, the King of Bahrain, the Carlton Cannes and figures from sport and culture.
A life in pictures.
From the surfing years to studio portraits and the encounters that have travelled with the work.
